Latest Release: Juliana Mae
After diving into the genres of jazz and blues, there was a classy progression I began to play over and over. It reminded me of being a kid listening to the “Oldies But Goodies” station on the radio —“All Shook Up” and “My Girl” were some of my favorites! I wanted to give the song legs with some lyrics and melodies like the songs I loved listening to, but nothing came.
On the porch of my parent’s house we met Juliana Mae for the first time, my brother and sister-in-law’s new baby girl. Inspiration often follows love and that’s certainly what happened to us! We fell in love with little Jules and we started writing song lyrics that night. Once we got home I sat down to put some music to our rough lyrics. I’d completely forgotten about the music I already created but once the code was cracked it felt like the merging of peanut butter and jelly – the perfect combination!
I hope the song transports you to the “good ol’ days” filled with band stands and greased hair, but most of all I hope you get to meet the classy girl with the classy tune one day – Juliana Mae.
Hello Baby
We’ve all been guilty of talking to a woman’s pregnant belly. It’s an irresistible urge! This song sprouted from that irresistible urge to tell our firstborn son how much we loved and adored him, even before his grand entrance.
So next time you see a big belly full of baby, make sure to stop and say, “Hello Baby!”
